ISC Successfully Completes Phase I of the SLIC Program, Launches Phase II

The first-ever statewide student-led ideation challenge (SLIC) completed Phase I on April 1, 2017 at the Virginia State Championship Event held at Virginia Commonwealth University. This pilot program was designed and implemented by the ISC with support from the Virginia Dept of Education. It engaged over 900 students to form teams and present their ideas to panels of judges. The top teams will be building out their prototypes to present to government agency and industry stakeholders as possible solutions to their hard-to-solve challenges in the areas of:

  • Education
  • UAVs
  • Forestry

Phase II is currently underway, inviting industry experts from this country and abroad to submit solutions to the UAV and Forestry Challenges. Submissions are due by May 22, 2017. To learn more about this challenge and to submit your idea, go to the UAV & Forestry Challenge.

Additionally, due to the success of Phase I, the SLIC Program is currently accepting challenge ideas for the 2017-18 academic school year.
